Citizens Advice

The Citizens Advice service helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, confidential advice, and through its Social Policy work seeks to influence the decisions of government and policymakers at local and national level.

Every Citizens Advice Bureau is a registered charity reliant on trained volunteers and funding from the community to provide these vital services for local people.

The Bureau is a registered Charity and is totally reliant on fund-raising and Grants to carry out it's work which is of great significance to the whole District.

If you have the time to look through our web site you will see examples of the work we are carrying out for the benefit of all and particularly the under-privileged. We are grateful that our main grant each year comes from Sevenoaks District Council, although the exigencies of the current economic climate has meant a gradual reduction until, this year, the grant represents just 61% of our running costs. Other grants, e.g. from Sevenoaks Town Council and some of the Parish Councils also help but we are left with a shortfall of some £30,000 which we need to raise ourselves.
